Calorific value (CV)

The calorific value (CV) of a produced gas from a waste stream defines its proper re-usage and commercial value.
There are key applications where a continuous measurement of CV provide important process and commercial decision making information.

Syngas from Waste to Energy processes - CV value provides justification for Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs).
Coal Gas from steel making - CV value determines re-use in turbine engine, boiler, reheating furnace.

Continuous monitoring of CV is used to determine if the gas can be used as a stand-alone fuel supply or blended with the constant fuel source such as natural gas.

LGA-C300 Calorific Value Analyser combines Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) and Thermal Conductivity to measure 3 fuel gas compositions (CO,CH4,H2) simultaneously.
This is an indirect method of CV analysis, solving all the conventional problems caused by ignition, combustion and heat exchange.
